The KÖTTERMANN Group, a specialist in laboratory equipment, has applied to the district court in Gifhorn for a reorganization in self-administration and the court has today made this possible by resolution.
In this way, the KÖTTERMANN group of companies is to be rehabilitated and financially restructured as part of the legally defined support options as a whole in order to secure the medium and long-term continuation of its business activities. Business will remain unrestricted. Existing orders continue to be executed and new orders are accepted. In a self-administration reorganization procedure, the management remains fully authorized to act and to decide. The management of the KÖTTERMANN Group is supported by Hans Fritsche of KSB INTAX v. Bismarck as restructuring manager and legally accompanied by Justus von Buchwaldt and Dr. med. Rouven Quick from the law firm BBL Bernsau Brockdorff. As the provisional trustee for the case, the court has ordered the lawyer Dr. Christian Willmer from the law firm WILLMERKÖSTER.
The KÖTTERMANN Group stands for individual and high-quality steel laboratory equipment “Made in Germany”, which has been setting standards in terms of quality, safety, robustness and longevity for decades. The company has around 250 employees at locations in Germany, France, Poland, Spain, Benelux, Great Britain, Austria and Switzerland, 200 of which are employed at the headquarters in Uetze-Hänigsen.
Partnerships exist in Central and South America, Asia, Africa and the Middle East worldwide. The total turnover was last around 40 million euros.
The company has already started a restructuring process, which should be consistently pursued. However, the difficult market situation and corresponding sales problems have led to a liquidity squeeze.
The salaries of the employees are secured by the so-called insolvency pre-financing for three months. The management has already informed the employees.
“The self-administration is our chance to set up the traditional company again for the future. Nothing will change for our employees and customers, all orders will be carried out as planned, and of course we will also acquire new orders.” says Albrecht Wiener, Managing Director of the KÖTTERMANN Group.
