Repha GmbH Biologische Arzneimittel
How a working group optimises laboratory planning
Together with our partner Landgraf Laborsysteme HLL GmbH, we were able to implement a modern furnishing concept for Repha GmbH Biologische Arzneimittel in Langenhagen. A lack of space made it necessary to build a new laboratory that would not only offer functional advantages but also be planned holistically.
From the very first planning stage, there was intensive communication between the companies involved and the employees. The actual target group was thus involved in the laboratory design process from the outset, and the furnishing solutions were tailored to their requirements and wishes. The first planning meeting took place directly in the Köttermann showroom, where the Repha laboratory manager, the laboratory staff, and the architects from bss architektur in Hanover were able to gain an impression of both the visual appearance of the wide range of laboratory equipment and the feel of the steel laboratory furniture and its functionality. HLL and Köttermann were able to present the subsequent laboratory planning steps clearly and convince the customer of the quality of Köttermann laboratories.
A central focus of the entire new building was sustainability. The new premises are energy efficient and incorporate innovative approaches: Köttermann laboratory fume cupboards are integrated into the ventilation and temperature control systems to ensure consistent air quality in the laboratories. Repha also attached great importance to a modern, translucent design. Glass walls create a balance between spatial separation and visual contact, enabling concentrated work while promoting team spirit.
Smaller rooms were created off the large laboratory to separate noisy activities. An HPLC laboratory and a weighing room allow staff to focus fully on their work. Ergonomic workstations and a clear spatial structure optimise workflows and promote well-being. The steel laboratory furniture in Köttermann’s Arctic White colour, combined with ceramic and HPL worktops in laboratory quality in Baltic Blue, emphasises the spaciousness of the laboratory rooms in a purist style.
